Cruise Tourism set to boom on the back of soaring demand for golf packages in Dubai

It been two weeks now since five of the finest ocean liners including the legendary Queen Mary-II dropped anchor along the Dubai coastline. Most ports and their managements would have been quaking in their boots at the prospect of handling the over 7000 passenger load at a single time. But the fine people at the Dubai Cruise Terminal in Port Rashid ensured that each tourist was given a warm reception that matched the finest of traditional hospitality that Dubai is famed for. The top brass at DP World rose up to the challenge and put in place a detailed plan to welcome the tourists. Joining them in their efforts were some key participants like Dubai Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Customs, Dubai World Security, The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), and not to mention, the travel and tour operators who had booked the tourists in for the cruise.

The disembarking tourists were treated to a cultural extravaganza that included traditional music and folk artists among others. Recognizing the varied backgrounds of the tourists, helpdesks in multiple languages were set up in a bid to smoothen the experience. Dubai has been wearing the crown of being the leading tourism destination in the Middle-East with consummate ease for many years now. Feats like the simultaneous handling of thousands of travelers only serve to reinforce this image of Dubai more and more. This recent feat, bests the January efforts where passengers from four cruise ships were handled together.
